The expression of Terroir is a modern development in the Champagne region. Why has it taken this long for the champenois to embrace what other regions have been doing for centuries? Come join us exploring the different major regions of Champagne, the different grave varietals beyond the most typical ones, and what is the difference between their appellation levels.
This tasting will include 8 Champagne wines, showcasing their difference in their origin and wine-making styles. By the end of the evening you will have learned:
How the classic and less common Champagne grape varieties express themselves in the glass
The difference between grandes maisons and grower Champagnes
How factors such as terroir, blending, and lees ageing shape the character of Champagne
